Install Aurvio on your child's device

Aurvio is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it installs directly from the browser in under 2 minutes, with no App Store or Play Store required.

Installation instructions

📱

iPad or iPhone

Most common for AU primary kids
1
Open Safari (must be Safari — not Chrome on iOS).
2
Navigate to aurvio.app and wait for the page to fully load.
3
Tap the Share button — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up and sits in the bottom centre of the screen (iPhone) or top-right (iPad).
4
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen".
5
Optionally edit the name (it defaults to "Aurvio"), then tap Add in the top-right corner.
6
The Aurvio icon now appears on your child's home screen. Tap it to launch in full-screen mode.
Can't find "Add to Home Screen"? Make sure you're using Safari, not Chrome or Firefox. On older iPads, the share button may be at the top of the screen. If the option is greyed out, try reloading the page.
🤖

Android phone or tablet

1
Open Chrome browser.
2
Navigate to aurvio.app.
3
Chrome will usually show an "Install app" banner at the bottom of the screen — tap Install.
4
If the banner doesn't appear, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
5
Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" (the label varies by Android version).
6
Tap Install in the confirmation dialog. The icon appears on your home screen.
Using Samsung Internet? Tap the menu icon → "Add page to" → "Home screen". Works the same way on Samsung Galaxy tablets.
💻

Chromebook

Common in AU school environments
1
Open Chrome browser.
2
Navigate to aurvio.app.
3
Look for the install icon in the address bar (right side) — click it.
4
If you don't see it, click the three-dot menu"Save and share""Install Aurvio".
5
Click Install in the dialog. Aurvio opens as a standalone window and is added to the app shelf.
🖥️

Windows or Mac (desktop)

For parent dashboard use
1
Open Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
2
Navigate to aurvio.app.
3
Click the install icon in the address bar — or use the browser menu → "Install Aurvio".
4
Click Install. Aurvio opens in its own window and appears in your taskbar/dock and app list.
Safari on Mac also supports PWA installs from macOS Sonoma onward: File menu → "Add to Dock".
💡 Tip for multiple children: Install Aurvio on each child's device while signed in to your parent account. When a child opens the app, navigate to their profile from the parent dashboard and leave the app open on their child screen. Each device can be left "parked" on a different child's profile.

Troubleshooting

"Add to Home Screen" is missing on iOS

You must use Safari on iPad/iPhone. Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers on iOS do not support PWA installation. Open Safari and try again.

The icon appears but the app opens in a browser tab

The manifest may not have loaded on your first visit. Delete the icon, open Safari → aurvio.app, wait a few seconds for the full page to load, then try the install steps again.

The app says I'm offline when I have Wi-Fi

Pull to refresh (swipe down) or tap the Try Again button. If the issue persists, clear the app cache: on iOS, delete the app icon and reinstall. On Android/Chrome, open Chrome → Settings → Site settings → aurvio.app → Clear & reset.

My child accidentally deleted the icon

No data is lost — Aurvio stores everything on our servers, not on the device. Simply follow the install steps again to reinstall the icon. Your child can log back in and everything will be there.
